Fast Electric RC Cars have a few advantages over nitro cars: one being they are less noisy and can be used indoors and the maintenance is a lot less compared to nitro cars. All you need is the batteries (rechargable are great) and you are generally good to go for a good 10-20 minutes off a single charge. Having multiple battery packs is also a good idea so you can charge one (in under 30 minutes) while your still using your electric RC car.
You may have often heard that there is no such a thing as fast electric rc cars but they do exist. Before the new longer-lasting rechargable battery packs were available a typical battery charge would go in just a few minutes and the power output was terrible. Cheaper electric rc cars will still be slow and it is true that even the best and fastest electric rc cars are no match for a nitro rc car they are still a good choice for their affordability.
Electric RC Cars are also great for kids to learn on, especially the lower priced ones - you don't want to have to replace a $400 electric RC car because it was driven into a lake! Electric RC cars with larger tires can drive on lawns and rougher terrain so no matter what kind of terrain conditions you have there is an electric car for it!
